Supermarkets & Tapas Bars

Off to Calpe in July, family in tow.

Never been before so wondering where the best supermarket is and where in everyone's opinion the best Tapas Bar is?

I'm working on the theory that the less time I spend looking for this stuff the more time I will get to laze on the beach on my big fat behind!

Hi,

You will find many Tapas bars in Calpe. Try on the main street "Garbriel Mero" (sp??) on the right hand side, just passed CAM bank there is a lovely Taps Bar called "Los Tellio" - They have a huge selection of tapas and it is very reasonable. On the other hand, you will see loads of Tapas bars, try them all.

Thanks a lot.

We do intend to try a variety of places but having a few recommendations up our sleeve just increases our confidence.

What about the supermarket situation? We have a car but once again would prefer to go somewhere decent if we can to stock up first of all.

There are plenty in Calpe, what area are you staying in and I will direct you to the one that is the most convenient. On the other hand, if you drive along the road with the salt lakes immediately to your left, you will see a chinese restaurant, bowling alley and a couple of car garages ( ford and possibly seat) carry on for approx 250m and you come across a large supermarket called Campini (or something very similar)

This is one of the biggest supermarkets in Calpe and the only one we use when we are at the villa.
